The Life of King Edward VII with a sketch of the career of King George V eBook J Castell John Castell Hopkins
If you want to read all the self-serving lies ever created to cover up the less savory aspects of the person King Edward VII really was, this is your dense, florid, panegyric! I don't know the critical mass of the pompous overwrought eulogy contained herein, but I do know it is at least as dense as plutonium, If you are studying this monarch, you will find in here all the "proof" that his parents' strategy for educating the perfect prince leads to wonderful, wonderful! Please don't take this book anywhere alone late at night without iead pajamas. Seriously, if your research requires that you understand the myths peddled to the loyal and clueless subjects, here you have it complete. There are plenty of resources out there that will give you a truer picture. Sometimes this account veers toward the truth for brief moments; then it stops, horrified, and picks up again where it left off. This is the version Queen Alexandra wanted everybody to believe. This is the version King George V wanted sold like sterile butter. The Hon. Mrs. George Keppel would have said it was better done. Appearances? Reality? Just be sure which you want when you buy this, and either way, you'll want to spit on Stockie's grave. Written by the wife. Not Bertie's wife. But she is the one who gets most of my sympathy.Product details

The Life of King Edward VII with a sketch of the career of King George V eBook J Castell John Castell Hopkins Reviews
I like anything about the English Kings and Queens. The price was right, too. You can not argue with free.
which is nothing. This biography was published too soon after the King's death to be a well balanced representation of his character and accomplishments
This is not so much a book about the Royal family as a family that happens to be Royals. They are portrayed as real people in very unreal circumstances. I was interested in the arrranged marriages between Royals of different countries and the impact it had on history. It stimulated me to learn more about that period in history.
My one criticism is the book is probably longer than it needs to be. The author apparently chose thoroughness over brevity. Still worth reading.
More in-depth bio and his private background are interesting to learn as most bio books just show limited general or insight statements and events pertaining the senior royals. Also interesting to learn each person had own personality based prior generation exposure and up-bring styles came forward to change for the better and to match fast changing Briitish and Global societal patterns. Good to read if you are a royal buff desiring to learn more each royal in every generation.
